Sawa Neze Pe Suraj’- Urdu poetic collection released

A poetic Urdu collection entitled ‘Sawa Neze Pe Suraj’ written by the budding Urdu poet Sheikh Khalid Karrar from Poonch was released at a function organised by the Writer Forum Jammu here today.
Renowned Urdu poet and State Labour Commissioner Pritpal Singh Betab presided over the function while Syed Mushtaq Bukhari, former Minister and MLA from Surankote was the chier guest. A galaxy of writers, poets and intellectuals were present on the occasion.
In his inaugural speech Syed Mushtaq Bukhari congratulated the writer for his contribution towards post modern Urdu poety of sub-continent and said that Khalid has contributed a lot for promotion and development of Urdu language especially the Urdu poetry in Jammu and Kashmir State.
In his presidential address Prithpal Singh Betab, described Sheikh Khalid as one of the outstanding young Urdu poet who has contributed to contemporary post modern trends of Urdu poetry of the state. ‘The poetic collection ‘Sewa Neze pe Suraj’ by Sheikh Khalid, would serve as a guideline for all the budding poets of the state’, he added.
Giving critical appreciation of the book, Prof Assad Ullah Wani Principal Degree College Kathua said that the poet has touched all aspects of post modernism which refelected in his poetry in a beautiful way.
Sheikh Sajjad Poonchi, Chairman, Kahashan Cultural Organization, thanked the Writers Forum, for encouraging and helping the budding artists of the state, so that they could display their talent in the shape of poetry.
Dr Arvind Singh Amn, General Secretary of the Forum conducted the proceedings of the program while Javid Rahi presented vote of thanks.
Number of scholars and intellectuals including Nissar Ahemd, SSP Vigilance, M H Bhatti, Deputy Director Social Welfare , Mohammed Shafi Dar, Deputy Director Information, Prof. Lalit Magotra, Dr Agni Shekhar, and Harish Kale were present on the occasion.
