| Cop injured in encounter | | |

A police constable was injured in an encounter with some ultras at Kothi area in Thathri, today while the militants managed to escape. According to reports today after receiving a tip off that the militants were hidden in the area, a police party launched an operation. During the operation, the hiding militants opened fire on the search party in which one police constable namely Ashraf of STF sustained gun shot wound on his left heel. Police party also retaliated but the militants after a one hour long encounter managed to escape. The injured cop was shifted to hospital for treatment and the search operation was on in the area as last reports came in.
