A serving police officer of inspector rank is allegedly running several business houses on the name of a trust both within and outside the state and is reportedly misusing his official position to get maximum benefits.
The inspector, the sources said, seldom attends his duties and mostly remains busy in carrying out his business clandestinely. Not only this he is reported to have married with a girl which he kidnapped from the college run by him though he himself being legally married.
The sources said that the legally married wife is putting up in Jammu while the other one is living in Delhi in a rented flat.
According to sources, the inspector being the blue eyed boy of some of his seniors is reportedly involved in many incidents but no action was taken against him. The said police officer who was transferred many a times from city succeeded in getting his transfer orders cancelled having direct access to the corridors of power especially his senior officers.
The said police officer has a chain of colleges in city, Katra, Kathua and some other areas on the name of a trust and is always seen busy in carrying out his business rather than attending to the official duties. Sources said he is also running all the business on the name of his father and wife due to fear of action against him. He has been accepting the monthly salary without doing any work and even many officers don’t know him.
Sources said some months back when he was found involved in a case and his name figured in the list of accused in police station here, a senior officer is reported to have directed the station in charge to hush up the case. Sources said the said inspector is alleged to have been greasing the palm of his seniors by offering different types of gifts to avoid any action against him for his misdeeds. Some six months back the said inspector also gifted a Laptop, purchase from Delhi, to a senior officer to get his transfer order to Rajouri cancelled.
The sources further revealed that the said officer was put on the surveillance of Vigilance Organization for some time but during that period the officer had been attending his duties regularly and punctually. Of late, he is reported to have started staying away from the office - courtesy his senior officers. How long he would go scot free would be worth watching.
