| Arms, ammunition recovered | | 2 killed, woman injured in militancy related incidents in Kashmir | | Srinagar July 29: Even as the police claimed to have eliminated one militant at Pampore, in the outskirts of Srinagar , one soldier was killed in Trussa forests of Kupwara, a lady was injured when militants fired upon her. Elsewhere in valley a large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered during last twenty four hours. Sources told KMT that on a specific input about the presence of a militant in town, police conducted an operation in the heart of the Pampore town about twenty kilometers from Srinagar. Sources said that police was successful in eliminating the militant without causing any collateral damage or injuries to any one else. In another militancy related incident in border district of Kupwara, a soldier was killed in an encounter. Police sources said that during the proceeding night, an encounter took place between militants and a joint search party of police and 47-RR in Trussu Forest area in which army Jawan was killed. During the preceding night, some unidentified militants fired upon and injured a lady namely Farida Begum, wife of Nazir Ahmed Shah.resident of Pati Lilium, falling under the jurisdiction of Police station Vilgam. The lady received bullet injuries in her left leg and was taken to hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, Police has registered a case in this regard and has launched a manhunt to nab the culprits. Meanwhile police along with 13-RR conducted search of a residential house of one Mohammed Akbar Dar , son of Mohammed Kamal, resident of Wakoora Gund Jehangir, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Sumbal. During the searches, two AK-47 Rifles, 60 rounds of ammunition, eight magazines, one Pistol magazine, 42 Pistol rounds, six Chinese Pistol rounds and one UBGL were recovered. Police has registered a case in this regard and has arrested the house owner.
