| No compromise on transparency, accountability: DDC | | |
RAJOURI, AUGUST 11 -Saying that total transparency in the functioning of government offices is imperative to eradicate menace of corruption District Development Commissioner Rajouri assured full cooperation to people in general and press reporters in particular regarding collection of data and relevant information.
In an informal meeting with press council of Rajouri held here yesterday evening, DDC disclosed that strict instructions have already been issued o the district heads of all the departments to discharge their duties in transparent manner and furnish information to everybody seeking it with bona fide intention. However, he reminded them about their responsibility of reporting factual stories with focus on highlighting genuine grievances of the people.
Responding to the change in the venue of I-Day function this year, DDC said that sports stadium Kheora the venue of the I-Day celebration has been chosen to ensure massive participation of general public as the previous venue he said was not too spacious.
The DDC said on August 14 and 15 the movement of the vehicular traffic will be restricted. No vehicle shall remain parked on the city roads especially from Gujjar Mandi Chowk to sports ground Kheora. He said shopkeepers have also been directed not to extend their sale counters beyond their shops on pavements.
In an effort to inspire the students and boost their confidence he said that all the meritorious students who have brought laurels for the district by securing top position in board examination would be rewarded by the VIP on the I-Day. |
