| Lok Adalat held | | |
KATHUA, JULY 30
A Lok Adalat today held at District Court Complex Kathua under the chairmanship of District Legal Services Authority Kathua. Lok Adalat was constituted two benches.
The first bench was headed by Pr. District & Sessions Judge also Chairman District Legal Services Authority Kathua and assisted by Additional District & Sessions Judge Kathua. About 12 cases of MACT and 7 Matrimonial cases were referred to the first bench of the Lok Adalat. 7 claim petitions cases were amicably settled by way of mediation negotiation, conciliation and an amount of Rs.7.21 lakh was awarded to the claim petitions and no matrimonial cases settled by the bench.
The second bench was headed by Chief Judicial Magistrate Kathua Mr V S Bhau assisted by District Mobile Magistrate (Traffic) Kathua Mr S S Bali and Munsiff (JMIC) Kathua Mr O P Thakur. 16 compoundable criminal cases of different nature were referred and taken up by this bench of the Lok Adalat and 16 cases were disposed off and compoundable fee of Rs.8800 was realized on the spot.
