| Puri regrets quit Kashmir call | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu July 31, Convenor Peoples Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) Balraj Puri has deeply regretted quit Kashmir call to non-state subject workers by some groups for the involvement of two outsiders along with Kashmiris in an incident of rape and murder of a young girl. He said that their crime was heinous but its severity did not become less if the culprits were a Kashmir and more if they were non-Kashmiris. In nay case whole class of workers from different parts of the country could not be held guilty for the crime of the two, he said. They had come to Kashmir solely due to economic compulsions and contribute to the economy of Kashmir, he added. Puri also warned against possible backlash of the exodus of outside workers in the rest of the country who have further been scared by attacks on Amarnath yatris and mysterious blast in a tourist bus from Gujarat killing six tourists and injuring twenty of them. Such incidents, he said, defame Kashmir and damage its interest
