The employees of LIC of India under the banner of Northern Zone Insurance Employees Association (NZIEA) held a demonstration at all the branches in J&K demanding speedy settlement of their long pending demands.
The employees deplored the inordinate delay on the part of management in settling the burning issues like recruitment in clerical cadre staff, regularization of temporary staff, compensation for overtime work as well as in modifying the LTC rules and housing loans. The employees strongly resented the proposed curtailments in cashiers and audit assistant’s benefits.
Among others who addressed the demonstrators were Ali Mohd. Tantray, Ramesh Chand, H U Koul, Rajesh Gupta, Shibban Bhat, A A Dar, J A Bukhari, Khushi Ram, Chaman Lal, Rajinder Singh, Khaliq Mohd., Vijay Khajuria, Vikram Singh, Mohan Lal, Sarfaraz and Shesh Kumar.
Meanwhile, Chandigarh region general insurance employees union also held protest demonstration demanding cancellation of all forced transfers, besides other demands. The protesters were addressed by K.K. Bakshi, Ajit Ram and R.K. Sharma.
