Dwellers of Talwara Migrants at Baradari today clashed with IRP personnel and broke the window panes of the vehicles after the later asked them to lift a sit in staged in protest against the government's failure to mitigate their sufferings.
Reports reaching here revealed that the inhabitants of the migrant camp in Reasi district today came on the road and staged a protest demonstration blocking the vehicular movement on Reasi-Jammu road.
Shouting slogans against the government and in favour of their demands the protestors, which include women and children, alleged that the government has miserably failed to mitigate their sufferings which has deteriorated their living condition.
Demanding relief package at par with the Kashmiri Migrants, the protestors staged a sit in, which was addressed by the migrant leaders.
Sources said that two IRP vehicles JK02S-7698 and JK02S- 7647 which passed from the area was attacked by the protestors following a clash between the IRP personnel and the migrants.
"The IRP Jawans asked the protestors to make a way for them", a local resident said adding, "As the protestors refused the IRP jawans thrashed two women leading the demonstration".
The protestors later went berserk and smashed the window panes of the vehicles, reports revealed.
It was reliably learnt that Additional Deputy Commission Vikram Singh Jamwal rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation.
The protest was called off only after the assurance by the ADC that three months ration and kerosene oil will be distributed free among the migrants and the demand would to be taken up with the government.
The dwellers of this migrant camp had been protesting from last more than a year. Earlier, last year the migrants staged a mock sale of their children in Jammu to register their protest.
