The khothies of the some top politicians and bureaucrats are being used for flesh trade in the city and outskirts by the employees looking after these palatial buildings in absence of their occupants. According to sources, some employees of these khothies are getting thousands of rupees per day on this count.
Students, police personals, officer’s kin, gangsters and many other persons use these khothies for their satisfaction.
Sources said some persons who are house keepers of these khothies have made a chain of their customers and they did not allow any new person in their trade.
An in charge of a police post was transferred when the officer raided one of the kothies of a former National Conference minister to flush out the accused and expose the racket. Sources said some days back the said chowki officer received many inputs that some persons were misusing these khothies falling under jurisdiction of the police post and started investigation. During investigation, the officer found many clues and told the whole episode to a senior officer who directed him to close the chapter and stop further investigations in the case. Just after few days, the chowki officer was shifted from the place and posted to another place.
Sources said some low profile politicians who have been allotted these kothies are well aware about the racket.
Sources said when durbar moves to Srinagar these khothies are used for flesh trade. On an average RS.500 to Rs.1000 is being charged for a single room per night excluding other charges.
During investigation, this reporter found many things and came to know that some officials of top politicians and bureaucrats are also involved in this trade and earning a lot of money.
According to sources the kothies located at Bathindi, Sidhra, Trikuta Nagar, Gandhi Nagar and other areas are being used for this illicit trade and no one dares to take action against the accused involved in the trade.
It may be recalled that some police personnel are also deployed in the said khothies for security purposes but they too are reportedly busy in this illicit trade and earn hefty sums.
If sources are to be believed several shifts are conducted of this trade and the night shift is considered the most costly shift as the higher ups mostly enjoy during the nights.
Sources said police has no guts to conduct raids on these khothies and this is plus point for the persons running the racket. If some lower rung police officer ever thinks of exposing the racket he is shown the door the next day
