| 3 labourers among 4 die, 8 wounded in mishap | | | Jammu, Aug 2 Four persons, including three non-local labourers returning home after threats from militants groups, were killed and eight others wounded when a mini-bus skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Ramban district along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, this morning. Reports revealed that a Tempo Travelers (JK08A-3677) which was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Sherbibi on the Jammu-Srinagar highway, this morning. Sources told that the police and local residents immediately launched a rescue operation and shifted the injured to Banihal hospital. Driver of the vehicle, identified as Sunil Chopra of Udhampur, and three Bihari labourers were killed on the spot, while eight others sustained injuries, police said. The deceased labourers were identified as Nikhil Kumar, Gotam and Ajay of Bihar. It was reliably learnt that the labourers were returning home following an ultimatum by a militant group to all the non-local labourers to leave Valley.
