| IED destroyed at Pahalgam | | |
Srinagar, Aug 3: A major tragedy was averted, today when IED was destroyed near general bus stand Pahalgam barely meters away from base camp for Amarnath pilgrimage, Noonvan.
Police sources said that during late afternoon, they received information about an unclaimed plastic container in the vicinity of Bus Stand and in response police along with bomb disposal squad rushed towards the spot, detected the IED and defused it successfully.
Panic gripped entire area and every body was seen running helter skelter for safety, sources added. However, hustle and bustle returned the place as soon as the device was destroyed.
