16 injured in grenade attack

Three police personnel are two Fire Service employees y were among sixteen persons who sustained injuries when some unknown person threw a grenade in Main market at Banihal on Jammu –Srinagar National Highway today.
According to reports today evening about 5 pm some unknown person lobbed a grenade in the bazaar in which sixteen persons suffered injuries some of them seriously.
Soon after the incident senior police officers rushed to the spot and took the injured to Banihal hospital from where nine of the injured were later shifted to Srinagar Hospital for specialized treatment. Sources said three police personnel and two fire and emergency service employees were on duty when some unidentified persons lobbed a grenade injuring all of them besides some civilians.
Massive combing operation has been launched in the town and adjacent arrest to apprehend the terrorists responsible for grenade attack, the sources said adding that operation was on when reports last came in.
