| Army motivates youth to join forces | | | Ramban:Aug 3 Keeping up with the Army’s ethos of winning the hearts and minds of local population, and motivating them to opt for security forces, 58 Rashtriya Rifles (RAJPUT) of 15 Sector Rashtriya Rifles has successfully motivated and trained nearly 200 local boys of Gul - Tehsil, District – Ramban, for the recruitment rally scheduled at Jammu from 05 Aug 2007 onwards. With the existing bonhomie between the troops deployed and the locals of the area, the young generation have had a positive impact on them, as was displayed by such a large and unexpected turnout of volunteers. The present generation wants to move ahead towards prosperity and join the mainstream for a better future. Going out of it’s way from the main role of combating terrorism, the unit has successfully carried out publicity and mustered the volunteers even from the remote areas. A small training capsule of two weeks was org by the unit to include physical toughening and coaching classes on basic maths and general knowledge. Such motivation and involvement of the young local population with the Army personnel will have a positive impact on controlling spread of terrorism in the area. This, alongwith the other development projects being run by Army under OPERATION SADBHAVANA will go a long way in strengthening the bond between the Olive Green and the common man.
