| DGP for professional efficiency in police | | | Srinagar, August 03 Director General of Police Mr. Kuldeep Khoda has underlined the need of bringing greater professional efficiency in all ranks of police force so that it could play historic role in making Jammu and Kashmir a peaceful state. Addressing the Police Darbar of twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch at District Police Lines Rajouri today, Mr. Khoda said “Jammu and Kashmir police is emerging as an elite force in the country and its officers and jawans have made supreme scacrifices to protect the life and property of people during the last 18 years of militancy in the state”. He said though the achievements of the force were tremendous and eventualities. Mr. Khoda assurd all ranks of the force that their genuine problems would be addressed. He asked all ranks of Jammu and Kashmir Police to be decent with the public and respect human rights under all circumstances while performing professional duties. “Police forces is being modernized and Rajouri Police Station will be developed into a Model police Station and stressed the need for a women police station too at Rajouri. Emphasizing upon strengthening of grievances redressal mechanism, the Director General of Police assured that a well monitored grievance cells would be raised for redressal of grievance. He inspected common facilities complex building which houses shopping complex, welfare centre, CSD canteen, fitness centre, barber and tailoring shops etc, and said that efforts will be made to develop such multi purpose complexes at all the district police lines of the state. On the occasion, Mr. Khoda praised the role of police in containing militancy and bringing peace in the state. He said that peace has been possible only because of active involvement of police in anti-militancy operations. He said that lot of transformation has taken placed in Jammu and Kashmir police since inception of militancy. He said there has been tremendous improvement in the image of police but at the same time there are certain areas whiere further improvement is required. Refering to the police martyrs, Mr. Khoda said that the scarifies made by the jawans and the officers of Jammu and Kashmir police during past 18 years while fighting the militancy to protect the sovereignty and integrity of the country would be remembered and assured their families all support for the rehabilitation and welfare. He said that more and more facilities would be provided to the jawans and officers with regard to housing facilities, financial said, educational loans, scholarships to the wards of police personnel. He said welfare programmes for the police parivaar would make more fruitful. Director General also reviewed the law and order situation in twin border districts with senior police officers and also discussed the security arrangements of coming Independence Day celebrations. Earlier, DIG Rajouri-Poonch range Mr. M. A. Anjum welcomed the Director General of Police and briefed him about the problems faced by the police jawans posted in twin border districts. Director General Police was accompanied by IGP, Jammu Dr. S. P. Vaid, DIG Poonch-Rajouri Mr. M. A. Anjum, SSP Poonch Mr. S. D. Singh and SSP Rajouri Mr. Farooq Ahmad Khan. At all the district police headquarters guard of honour was presented to the police chief by the contingents of J&K Police
