| Billawar simmers against Lal | | |

Kathua, Aug 4: A day after Congress' Member Parliament Chowdhary Lal Singh lashed out at media and warned of cracking his whip against the alleged negative reporting, people in Billawar –his area of influence –staged a protest demonstration against him.
If one had to go by the accusations of Lal Singh made at the press conference about the alleged biased reporting against him, then report should not have appeared in the newspaper but one could not shut eyes to what happened in Billawar.
People of Billawar today protested against MP Lal Singh and the local MLA Manohar Lal for a long list of reasons. They also presented a memorandum to SDM against them. Hundreds of protestor headed by Romi Khajuria, Block President National Conference started rally from guest house and passed by different areas of the Billawar raised slogan against MP and MLA and produced a memorandum to Tehsildar in which they accused the MP of misbehaviour with them.
They also brushed aside the statements of the MP made at a press conference in Jammu the previous day. Protestor also blamed the MLA Billawar for what they described as being puppet in the hand MP. They alleged that the MLA never comes to the people of Billawar to listen their problems.
Romi Khajuria narrated the full episode of July 31, to SDM and said that when they were staging a peaceful protest against the PDD, then MP Lal Singh along with his body guard came there and ordered the protestor to open the road for him. When protestor tried to tell him about their problems he started misbehaving with them and snatched a press photographer's camera.
