| KP delegation takes stock of shrines in Bijbehara | | |
Jammu, August 4:-A delegation of Devsthan Prabandhak committee Tehsil Bijbehara Kashmir visited the religious places and temples in Bijbehara area and took stock of the present position of these temples and the temple property.
During the visit the members were shocked to see the present deplorable condition of the temples and other religious places in the area.
Since, the Prabandhak Committee has taken a decision to revive the annual festival and yatra after a gap of 18 years at the Holy cave of Lord Shiva Thajiwara, Bijbehara on "Shravan Purnimashi" falling on August 28, the delegation sought the cooperation of Abdul Rehman Veeri former Minister and present MLA Bijbehara constituency, besides Tehsil and District administration. The delegation approached the President Municipal committee Bijbehara Mohammed Amin also.
Later accompanied by the local MLA the delegation met the District Development Commissioner and sought adequate arrangements for the ensuing Thajiwara yatra..
The delegation thanked President Municipal Committee Bijbehara for restoring back over 6 kanals land to the temple, illegally encroached upon by some anti-social elements.
