JAMMU: Aug 5
Senior Congress Leader Advocate Masood Naseem Chowdhary from Darhal-Budhal Constituency addressed a largely attended delegates and workers convention in Peeri today. The convention was held to listen to the views of party workers and delegates at the ground level.
While addressing the gathering Masood impelled upon the congress delegates and workers to create awareness among common man of plethora of public-oriented schemes and policies launched by Azad government. He asserted that state has never before witnessed such a massive development and reconstruction as is seen in the last one and a half year of Ghulam Nabi Azad government. It is due to his easy access with the central government and sympathy for the people of state that Chief Minister has taken personal interest in all activities in an incomparable manner, said Mr Chowdhary.
He said may it be the peace process, creation of new administrative units, road connectivity or war against corruption the Chief Minister has taken such decisions in this state the match of which was not available either before or after the independence of the nation.
Cautioning the people against the legacy of opportunist politics in this constituency Masood said that those busy in multiplying lakhs into crores and crores into millions can never take care of the innocent and downtrodden public of this constituency as is proved in the last sixty years. He said some people who have amassed uncountable wealth over the last few years are beating the drum of politics affiliating themselves with one or the other party just to protect and expand their business and are least concerned about the welfare and miseries of the people. And this is the reason that they leave one party and jump into the other which comes to the power.
The delegates while speaking in the convention demanded Development Block and Tehsil status for Peeri, construction of Prori Saakri Raod link, Kotdhara Prori road, besides setting up of Degree College at Peeri. People demanded introduction of science faculty and deployment of sufficient staff in higher secondary school Peeri at an earliest. They also demanded special police recruitment derive for the area and improvement of health care.
Mr. Chowdhary assured them of taking up the matter with the Chief Minister at an earliest. He appealed the delegates to further strengthen the hands of Ghulam Nabi Azad so that he can provide a hassle free majority government on his own. Prominent leaders who spoke on the occasion were Bashir Naseem Chowdhary Senior Congress leader, Contractor Mohd Rafiq and Ghulad Din and Neeraj Sharma, Sharief Chowdhary among others.
