| Lashkar militant killed in Kashmir | | |
Srinagar, Aug 5
A militant of Pakistan based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) was killed by security forces in a fierce encounter in north Kashmir today, a police spokesman said.
According to him, a joint search party of 6 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police was fired upon by militants at Panzipora in the frontier district of Kupwara. The fire was returned and in the encounter, an LeT militant Abu Talib alias Usama was killed.
One AK rifle and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militant
