| Governor, CM, media persons mourn Kak's demise | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER Jammu, Aug 5: The demise of veteran journalist BL Kak, who was New Delhi representative of the EARLY TIMES has been widely mourned by the people from different walks of life.
Governor Lt. Gen. (Retd) S. K. Sinha has expressed grief over the passing away of Kak, the veteran journalist who expired in New Delhi this morning.
Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Kak who breathed his last in a New Delhi hospital last night after brief illness. BL, as he was known among his colleagues, was the younger brother of veteran journalist, M. L. Kak. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
In a condolence message, the Chief Minister paid rich tributes to Mr. Kak and said that Jammu & Kashmir had remained a constant subject of his news reports and write ups. In his death, the Chief Minister said, the State, especially his fraternity, had lost a prolific journalist who would be remembered for long by his friends and readers.
The Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Mr. M. L. Kak and other members of the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul.
Meanwhile, the Press Club of Jammu organized a condolence meeting here this evening to pay tributes to Kak.
Various journalists from both electronic and print media paid their rich homage to departed soul and lauded his contribution in journalism.
After sharing their experiences with B L Kak, the journalists remembered his role as a good investigative and bold journalist. They speakers also shared their experiences with B L Kak and said that by his death the state has lost one of the senior journalist who always was fearless.
The meeting adopted a resolution and observed two minutes silence in memory of departed soul. At the meeting Shyam Koul, Arun Joshi, Suhail Kazmi, D P Sharma, Arun Sharma and Ashwani Kumar paid rich tributes to the deceased.
