| NSUI holds convention at Banihal | | |
BANIHAL, AUG 6— National Students Union of India today organized the one day convention on the topic of ‘humanity’ in the premises of the Government Higher Secondary School premises here in which large number of students, teachers, intellectuals, Army officers and prominent citizens participated.
Haji Abdul Ganai Manssor Retired Principal of the GHSS Banihal inaugurated the convention by lighting of the traditional lamp in presence of Principal Mohammed Iqbal Khan who was the guest of honour Commanding Officer 12 RR Col Rajeshvar and Shakella Saleem Tehsil Officer Social Welfare Department were the special guests while Ghulam Rasool President Banihal Municipality was the special invitee. District President Ramban NSUI Alyias Ahmed Banihali presided over the function and also presented the welcome address..
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest Ganai urged upon the students to work for the humanity and the nation so that we will make our nation strong and will eradicate the caste system from the society .He impressed upon them to work for the common man with out any caste color and creed so that the humanity will be served in the right direction. He also appreciated the District President NSUI Alyias Ahmed Banihali for organizing such a grand convention in this militancy infested area with zeal and zest adding that serve to humanity is praying to God.
Iqbal Khan Principal also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the NSUI for organizing such convention and hoped in the near future more such conventions will be held in the institution
Col Rajeshvar CO 12 RR also spoke on the occasion and distributed prizes among the participants.
Tazeem Wahid off Alam Shah Convent Institute Banihal secured 1st prize, Sumuyal Asad of New Convent Institute secured 2nd position and Sonoubar secured 3rd position. Consolation prizes were also distributed among the students as a good will gesture.
District President NSUI Banihal while highlighting the aims of the organization said that the convention was organized on the direction of the NSUI regional president Mohd Sajid Malik who is also in charge of Ramban Distt and Mehboob Azad state general secretary. He said the NSUI has launched a crusade against the social evils like dowry, castesm terrorism and illiteracy.
Among those present on the occasion were Feroz Khan and Shafiq Ronyial.
