| Militants hold meet, devise strategy to disturb ID celebrations | | | Govind Chouhan Jammu Aug 6- To chalk out its strategy to disturb the Independence Day celebrations, create large scale disturbances and to make their presence felt, the top ranking militants of LeT are reported to have held a close door meeting somewhere in Poonch district today. The meeting chaired by Abu Katal district commander of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit was held at Chunga area in Mendhar of Poonch district in which Mussa and Sabar Khan, of Tehreeq-ul-Jehad (TUJ) outfit, Abu Hamza of LeT outfit, Abu Sohail and Abu Meraj, both real brothers and foreign militants belonging to LeT outfit and some other local and foreign ultras were reported to be present. The meeting, sources said, decided the strategy as to how to deal with the security forces and create large scale trouble on the Independence Day. The sources said that the militants set on duty to disturb the celebrations and target their enemies have been told to take full advantage of the standing crops while launching attacks on the patrolling parties of army and other security forces. Sources said Abu Katal directed the militants, present in the meeting, to intensify their activities and target the civilians and the security forces before the Independent Day. Abu Khalid is reported to have told his cadres that militants across the border are likely to infiltrate before the Independence Day to strengthen the cadre and launch massive attacks on VIPs and on vital installations. The meeting is also reported to have decided to launch an offensive against those, including the VDC members, who have been helping the security forces and providing information about their presence. The meeting, sources further said, also devised the strategy to ensure safe passage of the ultras awaiting crossing to this side of the border and fixed some new routes.According to the plan, the infiltrators are being pushed to this side in groups with the active help of trust worthy guides operating in the district.
