| Arrangements for Budha Amarnath Yatra discussed | | |

Arrangements for the ensuing Budha Amarnath Yatra were discussed at a meeting of senior officers from varied departments and religious organizations held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Mr. Hirdesh Kumar Singh here this morning.
Interacting with the participants, the Deputy Commissioner took stock of the preparations being made for the smooth conduct of yatra. It was informed that the Budha Amarnath yatra would commence from August 18 to August 25 while the Shobha yatra will be taken out on August 17. Assistant Commissioner (G) Mr. Rohit Khajuria was appointed as Nodal Officer to ensure timely and adequate arrangements for the convenience of devotees.
It was decided that the base camp of Shri Budha Amarnath Yatra-2007 will be Ved Mandir, Amphalla, Jammu while the lodging centre identified for the comfortable stay of pilgrims are Jambu Lochan Community Hall, Karan Nagar, Mahajan Hall, Shalamar Road, Dogra Sadar Sabha, Agarwal Sabha and Geeta Bhawan. The SE M&RE, SE, PHE and PWD, Health Officer JMC, CMO, Jammu, SSP Security Jammu and SSP Police Jammu would ensure all basic arrangements made at these lodging centres as well as base camp. Other issues like transportation of yatris to Budha Amarnath were also discussed.
Mr. Singh exhorted upon the officers to ensure that the devotees do not face any inconvenience throughout the yatra period. He asked them to maintain liaison and work in coordination for the smooth and successful conduct of Budha Amarnath yatra.
Speaking on the occasion, the participants apprised that the arrangements made at their level for the smooth and safe pilgrimage. They putforth various issues for immediate consideration and also gave certain valuable suggestions. Majority of the issues were sorted out on the spot while the remaining would be conceded well before the onset of Budha Amarnath pilgrimage.
