Speaker takes stock of people's problems at khour

JAMMU, AUGUST 07
Speaker Legislative Assembly Mr. Tara Chand today conducted public darbar at Khour to mitigate problems of the general masses.
During the darbar, the people of Khour, Mattu, Naryana, Pargwal, Panjtoot, Hamirpur Kona, Datyal, Najwal and Bakore projected their demands and problems including upgradation of Government Middle School Datyal, construction of tube wells at Datyal and Najwal, Veterinary Hospital at Bakore, construction of culvert at Kullian, construction of Grid Station at Kaleeth, water connection to Pangali, disbursement of old age and widow pension.
Responding to the demands, the Speaker informed the people that to deal with water scarcity in various areas of Khour block, the present government led by Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has sanctioned Rs. 5.5 crore for construction of 26 tube wells which will cater to the water requirements of the block. He said that the government has already sent a proposal of Rs. 29.5 crore to the Centre for construction of a new grid station at Kaleeth, out of which Rs. 7 crore have been sanctioned for immediate start of construction work. He said that on the construction of grid station, the existing infrastructure of power supply would improve to a larger extent. He said that for construction of Kaccha houses of weaker sections of the block, the government has sanctioned Rs. 4.5 crore. He asked the Chairman Municipal Committee Khour to prepare the list of affected people so that the amount would be distributed among them.
For proper rehabilitation of border migrants who are displaced during Kargil conflict in 1999, he said that the centre has already sanctioned Rs. 78 crore. The state government has decided to allot 5 marlas of land to each affected family at Dayechak. He said that the government has sanctioned Rs. 8200 per hectare for tracterization of de-mined land besides Rs. 50,000 for construction of houses at Dayechak. He asked the farmer community to cultivate de-mined land without any fear.
