Integrated Child Development Project, Bani Organized awareness camp on Breast-feeding at village Asso in tehsil Bani of Kathua district today.
SDM Bani, Mr. Ravi Kant Verma presided.
CDPO, Bani, educated the women folk on nourishment of the children and stressed upon the need for exclusively going for breast- feeding to the children up to 2 years. He appealed the women to not to feed the children through bottles, in case need arises, milk can be given to the child through spoon-feeding. He said that breast feeding is best, safe and beneficial for the child and it protect the child from various diseases, develop immunity and makes the child mentally and physically strong. It creates peculiar relationship between child and mother and breast-feeding helps in reducing the weight during pregnancy and also helps in spacing.
Later the SDM inspected Middle School, Bani and checked the record of the school.
Among others, Medical officer, Bani, anganwari workers and large number of women were present on the occasion.
