| Jugal reviews RD works | | Stresses on quality, timely completion | | JAMMU, AUGUST 07 Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Jugal Kishore Sharma has underscored the need for timely completion of all under execution development projects. He directed the concerned officers and engineers to redouble their efforts and work on war footing to accomplish infrastructural development in the state and achieve the targets. He was presiding over an all district officers meeting here yesterday, convened to review the pace of progress of various developmental projects being executed in Jammu division under Rural Development sector. The meeting among others was attended by Director Rural Development Mr M.K Dwivedi, Deputy Director Rural Development and all the ACDs, Xens, project officers, District Panchayat21 and field officers of rural and sanitation were also present. The Minister reviewed progress on various under execution projects and directed the concerned authorities to ensure use of standard material in the infrastructure. He said that it is the endeavour of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to get sufficient funds released from the central government for socio-economic transformation of the people and we should utilize every penny judiciously and to the best benefit of the people. During the meeting, Minister also reviewed the implementation of centrally and state sponsored schemes like development of model villages, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY), Sampoorana Gramin Rozgar Yojna (SGRY), Indira Awas Yojna (IAY), Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC), Swaran Jyanti Gram Swarozgar Yojna (SGSY) and National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA). Mr Sharma stressed upon the functionaries of Rural Development department and its allied departments to accelerate the pace of work so as to complete model village within stipulated timeframe. The other sister concern departments like agriculture, medical, power development, horticulture etc were also directed to complete their assigned works at the model village sites at the earliest. Mr Jugal also reviewed the NREGA act and its implementation in various districts.
