The arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day at Ramban were finalized at a meeting of District Officers of various departments chaired by the District Development Commissioner, Mr. A.D. Shanas here yesterday.
President, Municipal Committee, Ramban, Mr. Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Wani, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mr. A.K. Sahu, Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Mr. Rajinder Singh Tara, Principal Degree College and Govt. HSS Ramban, Dy. SP Ramban, officers of Army, CRPF, BSF, IRP, Education, Health, Social Welfare, PDD, PWD and PHE attended the meeting.
The meeting decided to hold main function in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School, Ramban where VIP would hoist the National flag at 9 A.M followed by inspection of contingents by the VIP and march past of 16 contingents drawn from educational institutions, JKP, IRP and NCC.
A committee headed by Assistant Commissioner, Revenue was also constituted to arrange impressive cultural bonanza by the students on the auspicious day. It was also decided that District Police and NGOs would arrange refreshment for the students taking part in the Independence Day celebrations.
Other arrangements finalized at the meeting included provision for sitting, drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, sanitation of the venue of function, first-aid by Health Department, adequate security arrangements by Superintendent of Police and Traffic Police to regulate traffic etc.
While directing the Police authorities for keeping strict vigil on unscrupulous elements, the DDC also appealed the public to cooperate with Police in frisking which was aimed at to avoid any untoward incident.
The DDC stressed upon the officers to celebrate the National event with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour and put in their coordinated efforts in making fool-proof arrangements pertaining to their respective departments to make the event a grand success. He also called for their massive participation at the venue of main function with their staff and families.
