Police seize records from seven armory shops

Jammu, Jan 16: Keeping in view the celebrations for upcoming Republic Day and to prevent any eventuality , the City South Police paid a surprise visits to seven armory shops at Jammu Railway Station and seized their records for scrutiny, besides, passed the instructions on selling of guns.
According to high placed sources, the visits were conducted on the part of police after the inputs that guns are being sold on fake gun licenses.
Sharing information a police officer on anonymity said that a high level meeting was held in which sale of fire weapons on fake licenses and army fatigues (combat dresses) were stated to be the cause of concern and the police was asked to be more vigilant.
He further said that the combat dresses are used by the militants hence its sale though has been termed restricted but still on illegally. He said that traders dealing with sale of items police and army uniforms have been directed not to sale such items to unauthorized persons.
