EarlyTimes Reporter Jammu Aug 8: Jammu and Kashmir academy of Art, culture and languages Jammu organized local Mushaira in Dogri today.in which Tara Smailpuri, a renowned Dogri poet presided over while T.R. Sharma, KAS, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and languages was also present in the presidium.
Tara Smailpuri while delivering his presidential remarks appreciated the cultural academy for organizing Dogri Mushaira and also congratulated the participating poets who recited their poems in the Mushaira and made it a successful event. He also hoped that academy will also organize such Mushairas in future too.
Earlier, while welcoming the audience, T.R. Sharma, KAS, additional secretary, J&K Cultural academy said that cultural academy is organizing Mushairas in Dogri in rural and remote areas time to time but now we are also focusing on Jammu City. He also disclosed that on the eve of Independence day of regular activity of the cultural academy, composite Mushaira is also being organized on 18th of August, 2007 at P.M. at Abhinav theatre, Jammu in which poets from Dogri, Hindi, Punjabi, Kashmiri, Urdu, Gojri etc will also participate.
Dr. Gian Singh, Chief Editor Dictionary, Cultural academy presented vote of thanks while Brij Mohan, Editor Dogri conducted the Mushaira in a befitting manner.
The poets who participated include: Gianeshwar Sharma, Inderjeet Kesar, J.S. Pardesi, Mohan Singh, Pradhuman Singh Jindrahia, Rattan Doshi, Shiv Dev Sushil, T.R.Magotra, Sunil Sharma, Daya Ram Daya, Dheeraj Kesar, Harish Kaila, Yash Pal Yash, Ram Sanyasi, Tara Smailpuri, Chaman Panthi, Ramesh Rahi, Shiv Dev Manhas and Mohan Lal Komal.
A large number of writers, scholars, intellectuals of the region from different languages and prominent citizens were also present on the occasion.
