| Home Min officials review security situation in J-K | | | Srinagar, Aug 12 Ahead of Independence Day, senior Union Home Ministry officials reviewed the current security situation in Jammu and Kashmir in a meeting with top functionaries of the state including Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, official sources said today.
Home Ministry officials-- Special Secretary (internal security) J S Rajagopal and Joint Secretary Mitali Sen-- called on Azad here last evening and discussed the overall law and order situation in the state, they said.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Anil Goswami and State intelligence Chief Kuldeep Khuda also attended the meeting.
Arrangements for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations were also discussed at the meeting, the sources said.
The Home Ministry officials later left for Jammu to hold meetings concerning the security scenario in that region, they added. . |
