Jammu | Aug 8 Contrary to the view points that the Lal Masjid operation in Pakistan might put a tab on fresh infiltration, the militants are reported to have build major strongholds in remote areas of Jammu region. Sources claim that fresh infiltrations have lead to re-energized militant infrastructure in these areas.
According to reliable sources, many small villages in the areas of Surankote, Doda Udhampur, Ramban, Rajouri, Bhardwah, Kishtwar, Reasi are again seeing increased activity of militants. Locals say that during the tough Army operations in 2000-2001, the militants were under a run but due to relocation of troops from various areas the build up have come again in the interiors.
Only in July this year, LeT area commander among six militants of different outfits were killed by security forces in different encounters in Jammu region and security forces have also arrested three Over Ground Workers (OGW) of militants including a naib sarpanch with about 2 lacks rupees of hawala money while militants kidnapped seven VDC members from their houses. Meanwhile in second week of July month security forces killed five hardcore militants and arrested six OGW including a teacher and government employee while militants has also killed two VDC members and a minor girl and also kidnapped two more civilian and stolen weapon from a VDC member house. Meanwhile in the third week security forces killed four militants and arrested three OGW from different areas of Jammu region while two army personals were killed and eight got serious injuries when militants attack on army convey at Poonch, militants also killed two civilian and snatched weapon from STF Incharge in Doda area. Meanwhile in last week on the July month Militant killed 5 persons in a blast at Srinagar on tourist bus and also killed three more civilians in different places of Jammu region while three militants were killed by security forces in different encounters and also arrested a teacher among four militants while security forces also manage to distorted two IED's in two different places. Meanwhile security forces has also busted many hideouts and recovered large number of ammunition in many operations in Jammu region.
