J&K gets Rs 74 lakhs for desert development

Jammu, Aug 10: An amount of Rs. 74.12 lakh as balance Central share has been released by the Ministry of Rural Development for planning and development of Watershed Projects for implementation of Centrally sponsored Scheme 'Desert Development Programme' (DDP) in Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir during the current financial year. An amount of Rs. 273.97 lakh has already been released out of the due amount of Rs. 348.10 lakh to the State.

The grant is towards plan expenditure and its utilization is subject to the terms and conditions laid down in the guidelines for watershed development issued from time to time.
