| Cement truck seized by Batote police | | | Jammu | Aug 10
Batote police today arrested a driver and seized a truck loaded with illegal cement.. According to reports Batote police party led by SHO Sat Pal Modi during routine checking on naka stopped a truck No JK08A/7491 and asked the driver to show the challan. During scrutiny of the challan it was found that 180 bags of cement was loaded at Kathua and was being carried to Anantnag in Kashmir. But on physical verification the truck carried 360 bags. Getting suspicious the Police apprehended the truck driver and seized the vehicle. The driver namely Ram Dass son of Sewa Ram resident of Madin, Kathua was taken along with truck to police station for further interrogation.
Sources said during interrogation he told police that he loaded the cement from Chattan cement factory Kathua and with the involvement of some officials of the factory he loaded 180 more bags illegally.
Police has registered a case in this context.
