Demanding amendments in the Roshni Act passed by the state legislature, Jammu and Kashmir State Samaj Sudhar Sabha has alleged that the Act in the present form was detrimental to the interests of farmers and in favour of the land mafia
Addressing pressmen here today President of the Sabha Mohammed Yousaf Wani said that in case the government is sincere to help the small and landless farmers it should bring certain amendments in the present Act to make it people friendly.
‘Saying that the government is helping the land mafia by bringing such type of Acts’, Wani alleged that government is hell bent to uproot the down trodden people and those living below the poverty line by snatching their shelters. He called for early amendments in the Act, failing which the Sabha would launch a struggle to achieve the objective.
Javid Malik, Raj Kumar and Mohan Chowdhary were also present on the occasion.
