Jammu, Aug 10 The Jammu and Kashmir government has directed the administration in all border districts to impose night curfew in all villages along the international border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC).
According to official sources, this is to prevent possible infiltration of terrorists from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) into the Indian terrorists, which has increased after the Lal Masjid episode in Islamabad.
Following the instruction, the administration of Kathua, Jammu, Samba, Poonch and Rajouri, have imposed night curfew in all border villages, the sources said.
The terrorists, taking advantage of coarse and tall elephant grasses and dense forests along the international border and Line of Control, have been making attempts to infiltrate into the Indian side.
The night curfew will remain in force from 2200 hrs to 0500 hrs, the sources said, adding that the civilian movements in the border areas shall totally be restricted.
However, in case of emergency situations, like health-related cases, the civilians with the permission of the local police or the Border Security Force (BSF) could move.
