Expressing concern over the CM's announcement of increasing the number of seats in each region by 25 percent of the existing number, JSM (P) spokesperson said that such a move would be taken as discrimination with Jammu region to which it is being subjected since ever. He said keeping in view the population and area of Jammu division it deserves five to six more seats then Kashmir region adding that on average one MLA in Jammu represents 78 thousand voters living in 716 Sq KM area against 55 thousand population living in 346 sq Km area in Kashmir. He said the present ratio is a great injustice done by Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and the than Government at the centre upon the people of Jammu region, adding that the disparity in the number of seats in the Assembly is one of the main reason for the demand being raised by the people here for separate statehood .
