| Civil defence wardens meet held | | |

In order to further reactivate and assess the activities of Civil Defence in the district, a meeting of Civil Defence Wardens, was held today under the aegis of Deputy Controller, Civil Defence, MS Chouhan.
Several points were raised by the participants in the meeting which included installation of EPABX, issuance of identity card to all sectoral wardens, deputation of resource persons from Srinagar to Kargil for imparting training to the Civil defence volunteers of the district.
The Wardens in the meeting put forth several suggestions for bringing Drass, Sankoo and Chiktan under the purview of Civil defence. They also suggested the need to conduct a demonstration in Kargil by involving Civil defence and Auxiliary police.
Chouhan said that all necessary points discussed would be brought to the notice of higher authorities for further action. He said that role of Civil defence is needed during the flood, fire and war etc. He urged the need for making Civil defence, Kargil more skillful besides equipping the volunteers with all logistics to face any eventuality. He also assured that every effort will be made to review Civil defence for making it an effective organization.
