All business establishments remained closed today while a large number of people held a demonstration in support of its demands for grant of tehsil status to Jourain and opening of SDH in the area.
The demonstrators led by Choudhary Sham Lal, Vijay Sharma, Ved Parkash Khajuria, PD Sharma, Girdhari Lal marched through the bazaars and raised slogans in support of their demands.
Later they met the Naib Thesildar and presented a memorandum listing their demands.
