| Nimesh reviews facilities at ESI dispensaries | | | JAMMU, AUGUST 12 To review the working of ESI dispensaries in Jammu, Principal Secretary Labour and Employment Mr. B.L. Nimesh convened a meeting of medical officers of Employees State Insurance Corporation. Labour Commissioner Mr. P.S. Betab presided. Evaluating the working of ESI dispensaries during the meeting, it was informed there are only four dispensaries in Jammu division that are catering to the medicare needs of more than 21700 industrial workers and about 86000 souls of their families. The ESI dispensaries are providing OPD facilities to the workers and their families besides the corporation is reimbursing the amount expended on specialized treatment and affording other benefits envisaged under ESIC Act of 1948. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Nimesh stressed upon the Insurance Medical Officers to render every possible help in mitigating the sufferings of ailing industrial workers so as to keep them in good health. ‘On workers good health depends efficient performance of industrial units’, he added. Mr. Nimesh also impressed upon raising health status of the workers for obtaining desired output from their work. He said that medicare facilities must be enhanced keeping in line with sophisticated implants and clinical requirements. Later, Mr. Nimesh accompanied by Labour Commissioner inspected ESIC dispensaries at BakshiNagar, Digiana, Bari-Brahmana and ESI hospital Industrial Estate Bari-Brahamana for on the spot assessment of the facilities and working of these institutions. He also interacted with the patients and their attendants and enquired from them about the facilities being provided to them.
