Reasi police today arrested two thieves who were involved in many theft cases in the area and recovered large quantity of stolen material from their possession.
According to reports some day back a mobile phone and some gold ornaments were stolen from the area and the owner complained in police station Reasi in this regard. Police after receiving the complain registered a case in this regard and on the direction of SSP Reasi JL Sharma a police team under the supervision of DSP Vijay Choudhary and SHO Rajinder Bhardwaj started investigating the case. Sources said that during investigation of the case, police traced the calls of the stolen mobile No 9469008406 which was used by thieves and police find out that they called on mobile No 9419287906 and landline number 01965-230697 many times. Police after receiving the numbers rushed to Surankot area where the landline number owner during questioning told that one person called on him many times. Reports said after receiving information police team raided in Thanamandi area and arrested two real brothers namely Abdul Rashid and Kabir both sons of Sarbar Ali resident of Manyal Gali, Thanamandi and recovered large quantity of gold ornaments, cash and stolen mobile phones worth rupees one lakh from their possession and took them to police station for further interrogation. Sources said during interrogation they told police that they were involved in many thefts in Thanamandi, Reasi and many other areas and their interrogation was on in the police station when the reports last came in.
