| Miwaiz kin among 96 cross LoC | | | Jammu, Aug 16: Including a relative of Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a total of 96 passengers today crossed the LoC at 'aman sethu' (peace bridge) in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir as the fortnightly bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, plied as per schedule. While 43 passengers, including 22 POK residents crossed over to the other side at Kaman post, 53 others arrived from across the LoC, the sources said. Those who came from across the border included 31 Kashmiris who had gone to POK to meet their relatives, the sources said. The sources said the bus, named as 'carvan-e-aman' (peace carvan), left the state capital on its way to Kaman post with 34 passengers, including 13 who were returning this morning. Rest of the passengers boarded the vehicle on the way. Prominent among those who returned included Moulana Mohammad Ahmad, a relative of Hurriyat Conference Chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq. Ahmad had arrived here on July 5, the sources said. The bus service had started on April 7, 2005 to enable divided families to meet each other.
