| Stay away from emotional catchphrases: Minister tells people | | | Srinagar, Aug 16: Cautioning people not to fall prey to the emotional slogans as resorted to by the various political groups for their own vested interests, the Minister for Transport and Chairman, PDF, Mr. Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has reiterated that such gimmicks work against the very interest of the people. Addressing a public gathering at Razwan, Budgam today Hakeem Yaseen said that the benefit of development and welfare programmes will percolate to the grass root level only with people’s co-operation. Asserting that the ongoing peace process between India and Pakistan will bear fruitful results very soon, Hakeem Yaseen asked those to be part of the ongoing dialogue process who are still reluctant to join it so that the ongoing peace process is further consolidated. He said that the steps taken under the confidence building measures will not only allow free interaction between the people of the two countries but will also boost trade. The Minister said that the Government is committed to improve the Socio-economic conditions of the people particularly of the far flung areas and various welfare and development programmes are on the anvil to deal with the various challenges particularly that of unemployment. Responding to the demands put forth by the people which include repair of the link roads in the area, setting up of a veterinary unit and up-gradation of the school to middle level, the Minister assured the people that their grievance would be redressed on priority.
