| 6 Valley hospitals asked to shut shops | | | Srinagar Aug 16: In a significant decision immediate action was ordered to close 6 private hospital/Nursing homes who were not fulfilling Pollution Control Board’s guidelines. These nursing homes include St. Joseph Hospital Baramulla, M.M. Hospital New Colony Sopore, Dr. G. N. Geelani Hospital Manasbal, Rattan Rani Hospital Barbarshah, Alshafa Hospital Chini Chowk Anantnag and City Hospital Achabal Anantnag. This decision was taken at House Committee meeting on Environment regarding improvement in and around government and private hospitals, held under the chairmanship of Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar here today. The Committee conducted on spot inspection of SKIMS Soura, made round of various wards and enquired from the patients about medicare being provided to them. Mr. Sagar also inspected operation of 2 Incinerator Plants used for scientific disposal of wastage and sewerage treatment plant of the Institute. While inspecting medicare facilities being provided at Jawahar Lal Nehru Hospital Rainawari, Mr. Sagar instructed Secretary and Director Health Services Kashmir to ensure immediate action in providing potable water to the institution on priority, till then sintex water tanks be installed at various points in said premises. He further instructed the concerned authorities to improve hygienic conditions in and around the said hospital within three days.
