Demolition deceased's family compensated with Rs 2 lakhs

Jammu, Aug 17: District Development Commissioner Jammu Mr Hirdesh Kumar Singh alongwith Mayor Jammu Mr Narinder singh and MLA East Mr Yogesh Sawhney today handed over a cheque of Rs.2 lakh as a relief measure to the wife of deceased Mr Subhash Chander Raina.

It may be reminded that Mr Subhash Chander Raina died on 10th August 2007 at Panjtirthi Matador stand during a demolition drive conducted by JDA in collaboration with JMC. The deceased was running a tyre retreating shop. He is survived by his wife and two children. The Children were also given Rs.10,000 each for their education.

The visiting team expressing sympathy with the bereaved family members for their irreparable loss said that the financial assistance by their side will not cover their loss but is merely a helping assistance for sustaining their living standard. They further assured assistance to the children in carryout their studies in future.
