Kathua DC delivers administration at doorsteps

Kathua, Aug 17: In continuation to the drive to take administration to the door steps of the people as per the directions of Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Ms. Sarita Chauhan convened a meeting of district administration and public at Dinga Amb in Tehsil Hiranagar yesterday.

SE, Hydraulic, Mr. O.P. Dubbey, Mr. V.B. Khushoo Executive Engineer PWD, Mr. V.B. Khushoo, Programme Officer ICDS Kathua Mr. Gurdarshan Singh, Chief Horticulture Officer, Kathua, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Kathua, Chief Education Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, Executive Engineers of PHE, PWD, Irrigation, Tehsildar Hirangar, Tehsildar Settlement Hiranagar, Flood control, PDD, REW, DFO, other district officers, Tehsil level and clock level officers besides panches and Sarpanches and large number of people including men and women were present on the occasion.

The people from all walks of life without political considerations apprised the administration about their problems and grievances.

The people projected various demands of the area and expressed dissatisfaction over the working of PDD department which failed to provide interruption free power supply to the people and demanded replacement of loose and ole wires. The people accused the PHE and PDD departments for their failure on all fronts. The people also jointly voiced for inclusion of names of deserving families in the BPL lists. Other problems include road connectivity, Medical facilities, shortage of staff in Government educational institutions, non functioning of x-ray machine for the last eight years and ambulance stopped due to the vacancy of the driver in the primary health center Dinga Amb. Construction of rooms and repair the damaged rooms in the Government High School, Sallan.

The people strongly demanded for widening of road from Daylachack to Challan because various accidents took place due to single road and heavy traffic, repairing of reservoir at Dabbi.

The other demands include shortage of urdu teacher at Government Higher Secondary School. People of Dinga Amb faced many problems due to the army firing range.

Chauhan listened to the public grievances patiently and redressed some of those on the spot by directing the concerned officers.

Responding to other demands, the DDC issued on spot instructions to the concerned officers to take immediate steps to sort out their important issues and to mitigate the sufferings of the people on priority basis so that the people could feel a sigh of relief. Ms. Chauhan exhorted upon the officers to put in their sincere efforts in mitigating the problems of the people. Regarding shortage of staff in Government institutions, the DDC said that the matter will be taken up with concerned authorities.

Regarding other demands, Ms. Chauhan assured the public that they would be solved in phased manner.
