| Floods wash away Poonch roads | | | Poonch, Aug 17: Deputations from village Mangnar, Kanouyian, Jhullas and Salotri called on the District Development Commissioner Poonch and apprised about the damages and havoc which has been caused in the aforementioned villages due to the recent flash floods.
It is pertinent to mention here that Minister for R&B Mr Gulchain Singh Charak paid visit to the affected areas and passed the directions to the district administration for repair of roads, culverts and construction of protection Bundhs.
As a follow up action to the directions Minister, a meeting of the officers of Flood Control and Rural Development Department was convened alongwith the representative of the affected areas headed by Mr Yashpaul Sharma. The directions were passed for taking up of all sorts of protection works under NREGA, SE Flood Control Hydraulic Poonch also conducted an extensive tour of the affected areas.
Chief Engineer, Flood Control also assured that the funds as well as the material required for raising protection Bundhs will be dispatched shortly.
