8/18/2007 11:13:48 PM

Samba, August,18

The Samba District Police has today organized an ‘At Home’ with civil administration and senior citizens alongwith the Darbar of police officers and jawans. The At Home included all shades of people including members of bar, retired officers, senior citizens and representatives of Beopar Mandal and political parties alongwith media. The invitees were welcomed by Sub-Divisional Police Officer Samba Abrar Chowdhary.

As per a press note issued by Sub-Divisional Police Officer Samba Abrar Chowdhary the At Home was organized by the Sub-Division Office on the instructions of SSP Samba Rajinder Gupta IPS. The purpose behind at home was to let the citizens feel a taste of being invited at their own district headquarters vis-à-vis the celebrations of Independence Day 2007, said the SDPO. Chairmen of all the three Notified Area Committees Samba, Vijaypur and Ramgarh, senior advocates from Bar Council Samba, presidents of beopar mandals of all the three townships attended the ‘At Home’. Alongside the interaction with the public SSP Samba also held a darbar of police officers and jawans of district Samba and redressed their grievances.
While interacting with the public SSP said that under his supervision his team of police headed by SDPO Abrar Chowdhary has provided a best platform for enforcement of law as per procedure, mitigation of sufferings of people due to trivial issues, eradication of drug and maintaining a service character of police rather than a force like attitude. He said he has observed a police public co-operation of highest order in this sub-division maintained by the team working under his command and implementing the policies laid down by him and higher police formations.
The SSP appreciated the day and night efforts of police jawans and officers which led to a successful and peaceful celebration of Independence Day in Samba which was organized on a higher scale this year shifting from tehsil to district level.
People appreciated the efforts of police in hosting the At Home at district level on short notice and asserted that such type of activities brings police closer to public and lays the foundations for achievement of the actual goal. They suggested that the civil administration should also hold such public functions.
Among others MLA Samba Yashpal Kundal, Deputy Commissioner Samba BS Jamwal, Tehsildar Pawan Sharma, Sarpances of district Samba and Ex-Legislators attended the At Home. This is for the first time after the elevation of Samba as district that an At Home was organized by the police authorities. Previously a district level public-police meet was held in SDPO office Samba which was addressed by DIG Subhan Lone
