| Retd. Assistant Director CAPD self immolates | | | Jammu | AUG 18
Retired, Assistant Director of Consumers Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Gopal Dass immolated himself at his residence here today. He received eighty percent burns injuries and was shifted to Government Medical College hospital by family members where he succumbed to injuries.
According to reports, Gopal Dass son of Faqir Chand resident of Janipur, who retired two months back, locked himself in a store room of his house and immolated himself. His family members when noticed that smoke is coming out from the store room , break out the door and found him engulfed in fire. Police has registered a case in this regard and is investigating the matter. According to the police, two cases are registered against him under Prevention of Anti Corruption Act and this may be the cause of self immolation.
