| Sunjuwan brigade organizes firing competition for VDC members | | |

The crack of rifle shots shattered the calmness at Sunjuwan short range when each bullet rode with a fierce intensity, aptly propelled by grit and fortitude. This splendid spectacle was of a legion of brave persons known as the village defence committee (VDC) a group of committed and motivated souls who have taken up arms to fight the terrorists and their atrocities. Sunjuwan brigade took this noble opportunity to resharpen their skills by putting them through a refresher capsule followed by a firing competition on 17 and 18 Aug at Sunjuwan short range.
Brigdier HS Brar, commander, Sunjuwan brigade said that a number of VDC members were eager to carry out weapon training and firing so as to ward of threat to their kith and kin and Sunjuwan brigade had provided them with a valuable platform to fulfil their aspirations. He further said that the VDC members, as mature citizens of the nation must assume responsibility of guarding themselves and their villages from the callous acts of the terrorists. He congratulated all the winners and exhorted them to keep up the good work.
