| Militants flee from encounter | | | Srinagar | Aug 19
Militants managed to flee from the spot after a long encounter at village Putrigam in Pulwama district while security force recovered some ammunition from the spot. According to reports last night 183 Battalion of CRPF received specific information about presence of some militants in the area the forces cordoned off the area and launched search operation. When the cordon was in the process of being laid around the village militants started firing with their AK-47 rifles. The security forces also retaliated and after a long encounter the militants taking the benefit of darkness managed to flee away. During the search in the morning CRPF recovered 29 empty cases of fired bullets of AK-47 rifles, one live grenade and four blankets from the area which the militants left while fleeing in haste. The search operation was continuing when the last reports came in.
